If people are recognized in their basic condition as „sound beings“, the question arises under which conditions as far as possible all people can cover their „sound needs“ – i.e. communication (speaking and hearing), memory, orientation and sovereignty as well as health and well-being. It thus becomes clear what a major role sound plays as a resource, especially for full participation in social life, and how much acoustics and participation are thus intertwined.
So far, there have been two research projects on this subject, one in cooperation with the Main Association of Austrian Social Insurance Institutions and the other with the Climate Protection Department of the Upper Austrian provincial government.
